Plus All Our Great Volunteers at Helping Hand!
Gayle Priddy named Executive Director of The Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock
With the retirement of Bruce Limozaine in August, The Helping Hand was in a real "pickle" to find an Executive Director with the experience, knowledge and compassion which goes with the territory. The Board assembled to begin the search for a new leader.
The Board didn't have to look too far! Gayle Priddy was selected unanimously by the Board of Directors at Helping Hand to become our new Executive Director. Gayle has been with Helping Hand as both a Volunteer, a Board Member and one of our Staff employees.
Gayle started volunteering with Helping Hand back in 2000 after retiring from a career in Nursing. She began as a Volunteer in the Thrift Shop, working one day a week. She was asked to join the Helping Hand Board of Directors in 2006, where she was Treasurer. In 2010 Gayle began to volunteer in the Office, and in September of that year she became the official Office Manager for Helping Hand.
Gayle says she would like to increase the number of donors, as well as create more opportunities for Outreach within the community, especially with Arkansas Baptist College, which is right next door, and Philander Smith College, which is also nearby. It is her goal to expand on the group of our wonderful Volunteers, too. Gayle says she would also like to do more with Churches in Little Rock and Central Arkansas.
Gayle has been a member of Immaculate Conception parish in North Little Rock since 1973. Her husband of 25 years, Norman Priddy, passed away in 1996. She is the proud mother of two children, Jim and Susan, and has 9 grandchildren.
