It seems like every time we start to sweat a little bit, about a busted pipe, or lack of food, our benefactors come through for us, and more importantly, those we serve. You make a difference--a huge difference. Soon we will be posting the numbers which illustrate some of the ways we've been able to measure your support, on Our Supporters page. For each and every person who donated to the Helping Hand this past year, we want to thank you. You humble us with your absolute and utter generosity, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May God bless you for all you do to help those in need!
This year we've seen our share of challenges, but those minor setbacks have been more than offset with the awesome and incredible generosity shown by those whose with giving hearts, who believe in our mission here at Helping Hand. It's hard to keep up with all the people who have helped us. From the major Food Drives in the Fall and Christmas; to our Annual Pledge Drive; to the record-setting volunteer hours given by students and regular volunteers; to our Annual School Supply giveaway; to the beautification bestowed upon our facility during "Make A Difference Day"; to the tons of food donated to Helping Hand to help us feed our clients--each day witnesses complete love of fellow man and generosity.

The Arkansas League of Artists has a wonderful display in the lobby of the U.S. Bank branch at the corner of Spring St. and Capitol, in downtown Little Rock. There, they exhibit one of their member's paintings each month. This month, the feature artist is our own Sister Maria Liebeck, DC!
The painting featured is a beautiful abstract titled, "Holy Family". Sister Maria created Holy Family using a very unique form of paper batik. The painting will be on display for the entire month of January 2014. Sister Maria lovingly worked the crowd and helped raise funds, selling her artwork, cards and prints at the Hillcrest Merchant's "Shop N' Sip" last Thursday night. We saw many old friends and made so many new ones, too. God bless all of you for your amazing generosity, as we had a pretty good night! And a lot of fun, too! Check out the slideshow on our home page! Last Thursday was a hot one, but a wonderful night for the monthly Shop N' Sip along Kavanaugh in Hillcrest. And in the middle of it all, there was a familiar face! Sister Maria was hard at work, in her brand new Helping Hand T-Shirt. Despite the warm weather, Sister Maria had a pretty good night! The Shop N' Sip is always a lot of fun, and we would like to thank all those who purchased Sister Maria's Art. We' d also like to thank a new friend, Bob Glass, a professional photographer here in Little Rock, who took these wonderful photos of Sister Maria. Please visit Bob's Gallery at robertglassgalleries.com. Please click on each picture to see a larger view. Visit Sister Maria's website at www.womantreeart.org. Proceeds from Sister Maria's art go to Helping Hand.! Thank you Bob, for these beautiful photos! You may click on each photo to view the picture enlarged. |
